Zelenska Turned Heads with Her Look at the "National Legend of Ukraine" Ceremony

Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska attended a gala concert marking the presentation of the “National Legend of Ukraine” award. For the event, she chose a stylish monochrome outfit, accessorizing it with an unusual piece.

Zelenska wore a chunky “Light of the Nativity Scene” choker by Ukrainian artisan and founder of the contemporary ethnic jewelry brand Oksana Boriychuk.

According to information on the brand’s website, this necklace featuring national motifs costs 6,650 hryvnias

The “Svitlo Vertep” choker consists of small handmade white clay beads, each of which is glazed and features original hand-painted designs using liquid gold, coral, and tinted hematite. The chains, spacers, metal bells, and clasps are made of brass, while the hardware is golden-colored steel.

This ethnic necklace has one interesting feature—a crackled effect that occurs during the firing of the glaze. It is also called “crackle” or “craquelure,” a term used to describe the fine cracks that appear on works of art or in oil paintings.

It’s worth noting that the necklace wasn’t the only authentic element of the First Lady’s outfit at the “National Legend” awards ceremony, during which Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 18 citizens of our country and foreign partners. The social activist wore a “Dosvitky” apron from the Gunia Project brand tied around her waist, adorned with embroidery inspired by traditional towels from the archives of the Ivan Honchar Museum.

You can take a closer look at Olena Zelenska’s outfit in the recording of the gala concert, which was posted on the “1+1” TV channel’s YouTube channel.

As a reminder, First Lady Olena Zelenska presented the “Global Dictionary of Resilience,” which brings together the experiences of 38 countries and concepts that, according to the project’s authors, help societies weather crises and upheavals.

Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska, along with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived in Ankara for the NATO summit. As she stepped off the plane, she appeared before the cameras in a simple yet striking mustard-colored suit.
