Svyrydenko: Key international highways were repaired ahead of schedule
Major repair work on international highways in Ukraine has been completed ahead of schedule.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the work began in February and covered over 7.3 million square meters of road surface—104% of the planned volume.
Priority was given to key logistics routes and international transport corridors that ensure the delivery of aid, business operations, and connectivity between regions.
Repairs have been completed on a number of major routes, including the Kyiv–Chop, Kyiv–Kharkiv–Dovzhansky, Odesa–Reni, Stryi–Uman–Dnipro–Izvarine, and other routes.
At the same time, work continues on roads near the front lines within 40 km of the combat zone—a total of 59 sections spanning over 1,200 km.
Svyrydenko noted that they plan to repair over 10 million square meters of roads by June 1, and the pace of work remains high—over 200 crews are working across the country every day.
As a reminder, traffic on the Kyiv–Chop highway will be partially restricted due to repairs.
The government has announced when road repairs will be completed.
About 50 billion hryvnias are needed for road restoration and routine maintenance in Ukraine.
