Teenagers who stole a memorial plaque dedicated to Dudaev were detained in Lviv
In Lviv, law enforcement officers detained three 18-year-old men who stole a memorial plaque dedicated to Dzhokhar Dudaev, the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police.
The incident occurred in the city center—the plaque was removed from the building’s facade less than two weeks after its unveiling.

The perpetrators were identified thanks to surveillance cameras from the “Safe Lviv Region” system. They turned out to be three residents of the Mykolaiv region.

They were detained, and criminal proceedings were initiated under the article on theft. The penalty carries a sentence of five to eight years in prison.

The motives behind the detainees’ actions are not currently being disclosed, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
On April 21, a commemorative plaque was unveiled in Lviv honoring the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Dzhokhar Dudaev.
A monument to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin will be erected in Abakan, the capital of the Republic of Khakassia.
