Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko called on American companies to join efforts to restore gas infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.
She made this statement after meeting with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright during the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Croatia.
According to Svyrydenko, Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with the U.S. in the energy sector, particularly through joint projects with the Naftogaz group.
She emphasized that this involves not only restoring destroyed infrastructure but also the long-term modernization of the sector and the replacement of outdated equipment.
The Prime Minister also noted that some of these initiatives are already under consideration by the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, which will soon celebrate its first anniversary.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed preparing Ukraine’s power grid for the period of peak electricity consumption in the summer.
