Trump wants Ukraine and Russia to resume trade — US Vice President
US President Donald Trump advocates for peaceful resolution between Ukraine and Russia
US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire for Ukraine and Russia to end the war and return to peaceful forms of interaction, such as trade, travel, and cultural exchange. This was stated by US Vice President Jay D. Vance.
According to Vance, Trump is calling for both nations to "stop killing each other" and move toward cooperation. The American president believes in a world where people engage in business rather than conflict.
"Why shouldn't Ukraine and Russia stop killing each other and start trading? Why have a war when you can travel, cooperate, and exchange cultures?" Vance quoted Trump as saying.
The Vice President also emphasized that any reduction in global tensions would benefit Americans, and that Trump would continue to advocate for the end of wars wherever possible.
However, Elina Valtonen, who leads Finland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and currently chairs the OSCE, has strongly criticized the US-proposed plan for ending the war in Ukraine.
