CPC: Fire Point co-owner Shteilerman attempted to regain Russian citizenship

CPC: Fire Point co-owner Shteilerman attempted to regain Russian citizenship

Denis Shtilerman, a co-owner of Fire Point, attempted to regain his Russian citizenship in the 2010s.

This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Center.

According to the organization, the relevant information is contained in a 2018 ruling by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. In the document, Shteilerman appears under the surname Danilov, under which he previously resided and conducted business in Russia.

As noted by the Anti-Corruption Center, in 2016, Shteilerman lost his Russian citizenship, after which he attempted to challenge this decision in court, ultimately reaching the Constitutional Court.

However, the court refused to consider the complaint, ruling that it did not meet the requirements of the law.

The CPC noted that while Shteilerman publicly claimed his citizenship had been forcibly revoked, he made no mention of his attempts to have it restored.

As a reminder, sanctioned businessman Timur Mindich discussed with the then-Minister of Defense and current Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, the possible sale of a stake in the arms manufacturer FirePoint to investors.

Earlier, MP Oleksandr Dubinsky claimed there was a “backroom deal” between anti-corruption agencies (NABU/SAPO) and Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s inner circle, which is allegedly why new transcripts of conversations between Timur Mindich and Rustem Umerov are not being made public.
