The 2027 budget allocates nearly ₴100 billion to support the energy sector
The draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2027 allocates 97.3 billion hryvnia for various programs to support the energy sector.
“The priority is to protect and restore energy facilities following Russian attacks and to develop distributed gas generation. UAH 60 billion has been allocated for this,” Shmyhal wrote.
In addition, 8.8 billion hryvnia is expected from international partners for the development of NEC “Ukrenergo,” JSC “Ukrnafta,” and PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo.” This funding will be directed toward increasing capacity and accelerating Ukraine’s integration into EU energy markets and the EU power grid.
More than 2.6 billion hryvnias have been allocated for grant projects for businesses and the housing stock to improve energy efficiency and energy security. Another 3.2 billion hryvnias are earmarked for the maintenance of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant—ensuring radiation safety and supporting the plant.
UAH 2.1 billion is earmarked for the coal industry, specifically for miners’ salaries. In addition, 700 million hryvnias in expenditures have been allocated for bonus payments to energy workers involved in emergency repair and restoration work.
This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
As a reminder, ₴60 billion will be allocated to regional resilience plans in 2027.
The National Security and Defense Council has approved Kyiv’s resilience plan, and its implementation has already begun.
