In Donetsk, residents are being offered mine water amid a drinking water shortage
The so-called “First Deputy Prime Minister” Andriy Chertkov announced his intention to use mine water to supply the population in the temporarily occupied territories amid an ongoing water shortage.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Representatives of the occupation administration are presenting this move as an “innovative approach” to solving the water shortage problem.
However, experts warn that mine water contains dangerous impurities, including heavy metals, salts, bacteria, and even radioactive elements. Although it can theoretically be purified, in practice this requires complex technologies and significant resources.
Similar initiatives have been proposed in the past, but none have been implemented due to high costs and a lack of expertise. As a result, these new announcements are seen as a pretense of active work, while the real problems of residents in the temporarily occupied territories remain unresolved.
It was previously reported that in the temporarily occupied city of Berdyansk, residents are being supplied with industrial water through the water system, which is unsuitable for domestic use.
