Belarusian military helicopters were spotted near the Ukrainian border

Two Belarusian military helicopters have been spotted near the Ukrainian border. They were seen near the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions; the situation is being clarified. This is according to monitoring Telegram channels.

Two Belarusian military helicopters were spotted in close proximity to the Ukrainian border. This was reported by monitoring Telegram channels that track activity in the border zone.

According to observations, the aircraft were approximately 2–3 kilometers from the border with the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Several theories regarding their appearance are currently being considered. Among them is a possible response to Russian drones that may have entered Belarusian airspace. “It cannot be ruled out that the helicopters were deployed to intercept drones that had flown into Belarusian territory,” the monitoring channels note.

At the same time, it is emphasized that as of May 2, no new incursions by Russian UAVs into Belarusian territory have been recorded. Therefore, another theory cannot be ruled out—that the launches or movement of drones may have originated from Belarusian territory; however, there is currently no confirmation of this.

The situation near the border remains under observation, and information is being verified.

Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed rather specific activity along sections of the Ukraine-Belarus border—on the Belarusian side. Our side is closely monitoring what is happening at our border.
