An FSB agent who was directing strikes on the city was exposed in Kharkiv
The Security Service of Ukraine reported the arrest of another member of an FSB spy ring that was gathering intelligence on Ukrainian defense forces and passing it to the enemy to help target strikes in the Kharkiv region.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The SBU’s counterintelligence unit detained a man who, according to the investigation, was recruited by Russian special services and operated as part of an agent pair alongside his wife.
The SBU exposed the first member of the network back in January. She transmitted the coordinates of Ukrainian military units in the Dnipropetrovsk region via an FSB Telegram bot.
After the woman was recruited, her husband was also drawn into cooperation with the FSB. He gathered information on the locations of Defense Forces bases, the movement routes of Ukrainian troops, and the deployment of equipment and personnel.
To gather data, the man traveled by public transportation and photographed sites, then marked the coordinates on Google Maps.
As the investigation established, to conceal his activities, he sometimes enlisted the help of an acquaintance who drove him around in her car, unaware of his true intentions.
The suspect transmitted the collected information to his Russian handler via anonymous accounts on messaging apps, after which he received new assignments.
After his accomplice was exposed, law enforcement documented the man’s activities and detained him at his residence.
During a search, his smartphone and laptop were seized, containing evidence of collaboration with the enemy.
SBU investigators informed the detainee of the charges against him under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—treason committed under martial law.
The suspect is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
“The Security Service of Ukraine has documented criminal activity…,” the case materials state.
“To track the locations of Ukrainian troops, the agent traveled around the area using public transportation and photographed the locations where Defense Forces personnel and equipment were concentrated,” the agency noted.

Earlier, the Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent in Odesa who, according to the investigation, was planning the assassination of a high-ranking official in the Ukrainian Navy.
Previously, the SBU’s military counterintelligence, in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigations, exposed another agent of the Russian special services within the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Security Service of Ukraine neutralized a Russian military intelligence agent in the Donetsk region who was planning shelling attacks on Kramatorsk and destroying property belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The SBU also detained a Russian agent who was guiding airstrikes on Sloviansk.
