In Khmelnytskyi, students from a soccer academy protested outside the city hall over their coach's mobilization

In Khmelnytskyi, children and their parents gathered for a protest outside the building of the Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center (RRSSC). The protesters demanded the release of a 56-year-old coach at the “Mriya” soccer school, claiming that he has legal grounds for deferment from conscription.

According to the protesters, the mobilized coach works with about 200 children and is also the sole caregiver for his 88-year-old bedridden mother. Videos posted online show the soccer school’s students chanting “Coach!” in unison, demanding that their mentor be returned to them.

That evening, the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office issued an official statement regarding the situation. The agency stated that during a routine check of the citizen’s military registration records, it was determined that he was registered but did not have a properly documented deferment and, at the time of the check, did not provide any documents that would legally confirm his right to it.

Military officials reported that the man was taken to the regional assembly point to undergo a military medical examination (MME), which officially deemed him fit for military service. According to the TCC, after all legal procedures were completed, the conscript was handed a mobilization order with a specified arrival date, which he signed personally, after which he left the assembly point on his own.

This incident, which took place on June 3, was reported by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.

As a reminder, a scheme to help men flee abroad via the TCC was uncovered in Kharkiv.

The SBU detained the head of the Medical Examination Commission in Kropyvnytskyi for selling disability certificates.

Kyiv police dismantled an interregional cocaine distribution network worth 8 million hryvnias.
