In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained an 18-year-old resident of the Kyiv region who is suspected of treason. According to the investigation, he passed information to the Russian side—in exchange for monetary compensation—about military facilities and a company where drones were stored.

According to the investigation, the suspect made contact with a representative of the Russian Federation via Telegram and agreed to carry out his assignments in exchange for monetary compensation.

His first assignment was to photograph one of the regional territorial recruitment and social support centers, as well as the surroundings.

For completing the task, according to law enforcement officials, he received $20 in U.S. dollars deposited into his cryptocurrency account.

Subsequently, the handler instructed the suspect to gather information about one of Kyiv’s enterprises, on whose premises unmanned aerial vehicles were stored.

According to the case file, the Russian side was interested in:

  • the company’s location;
  • the specifics of its operations;
  • the facility’s internal infrastructure.

All photos and materials had to be sent with precise geolocation data and the time the images were taken.

According to investigators, the collected information was intended to be used to prepare missile or drone strikes on the Ukrainian capital.

The suspect was detained, and the court ordered him to be held in custody without the right to bail.

In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
