In Kyiv, on the evening of September 6, the first round of talks between the Ukrainian delegation, led by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner came to an end. A second, expanded round of talks will begin next. It will include national security advisers from the “Euro-Troika” countries—the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined how the negotiations with U.S. representatives and European partners will proceed. According to him, several separate sessions will be held in Kyiv—first, the Ukrainian side will meet with the U.S. president’s special envoys, and then national security advisers from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany will join the talks.
