A 12-year-old boy died in Kryvyi Rih after being struck by a judge at a crosswalk

Svyatoslav Andrusenko, 12, died in the hospital after spending more than four months in critical condition following a traffic accident in Kryvyi Rih. The boy was struck by a judge while crossing at a crosswalk.

The child sustained severe injuries in the accident, and doctors in Dnipro fought for his life for a long time, but they were unable to save him.

His school noted that Svyatoslav had plans and dreams, and his death was a great tragedy for his family, friends, and teachers.

“Sviatoslav had dreams, plans, and passions; he had his whole life ahead of him, full of possibilities and discoveries. His untimely death is an irreparable loss for his family, friends, classmates, teachers, and our entire high school community,” the statement reads.

The accident occurred on February 9 at around 4:30 p.m. in Kryvyi Rih. According to the investigation:

  • a judge, while driving a BMW, struck a boy born in 2014
  • the child was crossing the street with his mother
  • it was a regulated crosswalk

Following the accident, the State Bureau of Investigations opened a criminal case.

Subsequently, the judge was notified of the charges against her. She is charged under an article that provides for:

  • 3 to 8 years of imprisonment
  • disqualification from driving for up to 3 years

As a reminder, on February 9 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a traffic accident occurred in Kryvyi Rih involving a judge from one of the district courts.

As a reminder, businessman Mazepa was involved in a traffic accident on the Zhytomyr Highway.

The police also revealed details of a fatal traffic accident involving the mayor of Voznesensk.
