In Lviv, a 42-year-old man is suspected of distributing child pornography
In Lviv, law enforcement officers detained a 42-year-old man suspected of obtaining, possessing, and distributing child pornography.
According to the investigation, the man used Telegram. In September 2025, while chatting, he received two video files containing illegal content and saved them on his phone. Subsequently, he acquired other similar materials, which he stored in the messenger’s cloud storage.
Law enforcement officials also documented instances of the distribution of such files. In June and July 2026, the suspect forwarded five files containing evidence of child sexual abuse to other Telegram users.
During his arrest, electronic storage devices containing a significant amount of prohibited material were seized from the man. An expert examination confirmed the pornographic nature of the material, including the presence of child pornography.
The Lviv resident was notified of charges under Parts 1, 3, and 4 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The charges pertain to the receipt and possession of such materials without the intent to sell, as well as their redistribution.
The court has already imposed a pretrial measure on him—detention with the possibility of bail.

An indictment has been filed against a 30-year-old master sergeant from one of the State Border Guard Service units in the Lviv region. According to the investigation, the military officer promised a conscript, in exchange for 30,000 U.S. dollars, to arrange an illegal crossing into Poland through one of the checkpoints. In March 2026, law enforcement officers detained him while he was receiving the full amount of the bribe.
In Ukraine, a bill to legalize pornography—co-authored by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, chairman of the parliament’s finance committee—passed its first reading in July and is awaiting a second reading.
