The National Police explained the cases of patients being referred back to the TCC

The head of the National Police explained why citizens are sometimes brought back to the TCC. According to him, such situations arise during checks when a person is again found in the wanted persons database.

Vygivsky noted that the reason may be, in particular, untimely updates or data entry, and advised following established procedures to avoid misunderstandings with the police.

This was stated by National Police Chief Ivan Vyhovsky in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"There are many such cases. Today we have situations where citizens are stopped for checks and are again found in the 'wanted' databases, even though they had previously been taken to the TCC," he noted.

According to him, this is often due to the fact that during the first visit to the TCC, grounds for a deferral were established, but this information was not entered into the system in a timely manner or the individual did not have time to complete the paperwork.

In addition, another reason for repeated detentions is when a person was brought in but, due to the absence of a passport or the need for additional medical examination, was issued a new summons.

Vygivsky noted that if a person does not appear at the appointed time to complete the procedure, the search for them is automatically extended. He added that one must also take into account the time required to synchronize databases, since while the medical examination or document verification is ongoing, the TCC may not remove the request to bring the person in.

How to avoid being summoned to the TCC again

"We understand that this creates certain inconveniences when the police are forced to respond to a status on the tablet that should actually already have been updated. To avoid such misunderstandings, we advise citizens to always carry their documents with them," noted the head of the National Police.

This refers to documents confirming the right to a deferment or the fact that the individual is in the process of undergoing the commission’s review. This will allow for on-the-spot verification and help avoid being sent back to the TCC.

"And there are also instances of illegal activity that we document every day, and I speak openly about this. This involves the receipt of improper benefits by TCC employees themselves. This is true; society is aware of it," he emphasized.

Vygivsky added that mobilization measures must be carried out, but, he stressed, they must be as honest and transparent as possible, without shifting responsibility from one agency to another.

Vyhovskyrevealed how many people work in the National Police.

The head of the National Police stated that law enforcement officers’ participation in mobilization measures is not their direct duty and has negative consequences.
