Ukrainian lawmaker caught hiding $4.7M in cryptocurrency

In Poltava, a city council member has been exposed for attempting to hide over $4.7 million in cryptocurrency that he failed to declare as assets.

Investigators say the lawmaker and his wife converted cash into crypto through exchange offices and used verified accounts on major trading platforms to conceal the funds.

Authorities seized documents and electronic devices during searches. The deputy now faces up to two years in prison and a ban from holding public office if convicted.
