The Rada has outlined a possible timeline for a decision on the tax on international packages
A vote on the introduction of a tax on international parcels could take place as early as next week. According to some members of parliament, a number of lawmakers who had previously opposed the initiative have changed their position. A final decision on the legislative changes is expected after the relevant bill is considered on the floor of the parliament.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Tax Committee, at a roundtable on changes to tax legislation.
“I predict a higher likelihood of its support,” said Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Tax Committee.
According to him, some members of parliament who previously opposed changes to the taxation of parcels have revised their position.
The adoption of this bill is one of the mandatory requirements under the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund. It must be fulfilled by the end of May.
In addition, this issue may also be included in the terms of a loan from the European Union.
