New categories for the government have been added to the Register of Damages
The International Register of Damages for Ukraine has expanded the options for filing claims for compensation. From now on, the state can record the expenses it has incurred as a result of Russian aggression.
This includes, in particular, expenses for humanitarian aid to the affected population, as well as for demining territories and clearing them of unexploded ordnance.
Claims will now also be accepted under the following categories:
B4 Government humanitarian expenditures to support the affected population.
B5 Demining and clearance of unexploded ordnance.
“The introduction of these categories allows the State of Ukraine to claim compensation for documented expenses incurred to support the affected population and to restore security in areas contaminated by mines and unexploded ordnance, and to build the necessary evidence base for this,” the Registry reported.
Claims under categories B4 and B5 may be submitted by the State of Ukraine, including its central, regional, and local authorities and institutions. Claims are submitted via the Diya web portal.

The Registry of Damages Caused by Russian Aggression has opened new categories for claims.
Previously, the international registry of damages caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine had opened a new category of claims—A1.2. It pertains to the forced displacement of citizens outside Ukraine as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.
