Schools will hold a special educational session in honor of Gunsmith Day
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has endorsed an initiative to hold a special educational session in secondary schools every year on April 13 in observance of Gunsmith Day.
This was reported by the Ministry’s press service, noting that the event aims to introduce students to specialists who develop technologies to defend the country.
The initiative, proposed by JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry,” is designed to show students the importance of the work of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists. The main emphasis is on the fact that national security depends on the complex solutions developed by the people who design modern weapons.
A concept for educational materials has been prepared for the lessons, adapted for different age groups:
Elementary grades: an introduction to careers in the industry and basic safety rules.
Middle school: stories about how technology saves the lives of military personnel and civilians.
High school: discussion of the prospects of engineering education and the responsibility for using innovations.
The ministry emphasizes that this is not just a one-time event, but a strategic step toward fostering interest in technical fields. Education must meet the country’s real needs, encouraging young people to choose professions that will ensure Ukraine’s long-term stability and defense capabilities in the future. The educational session is intended to be the first step toward making an informed career choice in the high-tech sector.
Prospective students were reminded of the prohibitions and the cancellation of results during the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT).
