The Supreme Court is currently hearing about six cases involving lawsuits filed by Medvedchuk
Several cases involving lawsuits filed by Viktor Medvedchuk, a former member of parliament with ties to the Kremlin, are pending before the Supreme Court; however, no decisions have been made on them yet.
This was reported by Supreme Court Chief Justice Stanislav Kravchenko in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, there are currently about six cases involving Medvedchuk pending in court.
“As far as I know, we have several cases involving the person you mentioned—if I’m not mistaken, about six,” Kravchenko noted.
He emphasized that no decisions have yet been made in these proceedings.
Kravchenko also noted that he does not analyze individual cases, given the court’s heavy workload.
“There are 93,000 cases in the Supreme Court alone—I don’t analyze them. And Medvedchuk’s case is definitely not an exception,” he said.
According to the Supreme Court chairman, he often learns about high-profile cases from the media.
“I often learn about certain things by name specifically from the media—depending on how much public interest there is,” Kravchenko added.
He also emphasized that there is no practice in the court of informing the leadership about specific cases.
“It is not customary for us to report to the Chief Justice on which cases have been filed and which ones need to be heard. That doesn’t happen. That would not be democracy,” he concluded.
