Ukraine can produce 2,000 interceptor drones per day
Ukraine possesses the technological capacity for mass production of aerial defense systems, enabling it to produce up to two thousand interceptor drones daily.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this large-scale capability of the domestic defense-industrial complex in an interview with Reuters.
The head of state emphasized that stable funding and support from partners are key factors for launching such production.
With the necessary resources, Ukraine will be able to independently neutralize the threats posed by massive attacks by Russian drones.
“The technology is there. Provided the budget is available, Ukraine has the capacity to produce two thousand interceptor drones per day,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
This will allow for the creation of a dense shield against enemy strike drones that are terrorizing civilian infrastructure.
The President noted that developing domestic technologies is critically important as Russia prepares for new strikes on dams and water supply systems.
Russia has launched the second phase of its winter operation, so strengthening air defense with drones has become the top priority.
“Their targets at this stage are water supply systems, reservoirs, dams, logistics, and so on. Russia’s plans are clear, but we are stronger now than we were in the winter. We must fight for funding,” the country’s leader said.
Funds will be directed toward innovative solutions that have already proven their effectiveness.
In addition to defense, Ukraine is also building up its own long-range capabilities, which the president calls “Ukrainian sanctions.” Every attack by the aggressor will be met with a harsh response so that the enemy feels the real cost of continuing hostilities.
“If Ukraine does not respond to their strikes, Russia will simply continue the war and not even consider a pause,” the president added.
Mass production of interceptors will be part of this strategy to force the enemy to cease fire.
As a reminder, the U.S. links security guarantees to the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas.
The Ukrainian president also warned that the Russian Federation is planning new armed conflicts in the coming years and continues to destabilize Europe.
