Photos from the service have appeared online, showing Dobkin in church vestments.
Most users reacted negatively, criticizing both his choice of church and the service itself.
Comments also referenced old memes associated with the politician and expressed outrage over his involvement with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
At the same time, some users came to his defense, suggesting that this might be a personal spiritual choice.
The Supreme Court overturned the dismissal of criminal proceedings against former Kharkiv Mayor Mykhailo Dobkin, which concern the so-called “cooperative scheme” for land allocation. The case will now be reconsidered by the court of first instance.
