A video has emerged showing the moment police officers were shot in the Khmelnytskyi region
In the Khmelnytskyi region, police officers were attacked with firearms during a pursuit of a driver whose license had been revoked by a court.
This was reported by the National Police.
According to preliminary data, a patrol police response team was pursuing the offender, who ran onto the grounds of his home in the village of Terlivka. The police officers approached the gate and called for an investigative team, after which the assailant opened automatic fire.
Police Captain Serhiy Chornyi was killed in the shooting. His partner, Senior Lieutenant Vladyslav Sandetskyi, returned fire but was also wounded and is currently in the hospital.
The attacker fled and is currently being sought. At the scene, law enforcement officers found an empty magazine for an automatic weapon and 5.45 mm caliber shell casings.
