Ukraine has upgraded four border crossing points on its border with Moldova
Ukraine has completed a large-scale renovation of four border crossing points on the border with Moldova, simultaneously modernizing the infrastructure and improving conditions for crossing. The work covered the Odesa region and part of key international routes. A modern service area for drivers and vehicles was also created near one of the checkpoints.
Ukraine has completed the modernization of four border crossing points on the border with Moldova, as part of a large-scale upgrade of border infrastructure designed to speed up traffic flow and make border crossings more convenient and predictable for drivers and passengers. The work was carried out by the Ukraine Recovery Agency as part of national and international programs to develop border logistics.
According to Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, the upgrades took place at the “Starokozache–Tudora,” “Dolynske–Cishmikioi,” “Lisne–Seits,” and “Maloyaroslavets 1–Cadir-Lunga,” which are located in the Odesa region and are of great importance for international traffic between Ukraine and Moldova.
The infrastructure at the renovated facilities has been fully modernized: new modular buildings for service operations have been installed, backup power sources, modern lighting, and utility networks have been set up, and working conditions for border guards and customs officers have been improved, which should reduce lines and speed up vehicle clearance. Special attention was paid to accessibility and convenience for people with disabilities to make crossing the border more accessible.
At the same time, construction was completed on a modern service area near the “Reni–Giurgiulești” border crossing on the Odesa – Reni highway, which can accommodate 46 trucks and 13 passenger cars and is designed for drivers to rest while waiting to cross the border. The area is equipped with lighting, water supply, a drainage system, and basic infrastructure to ensure a comfortable stay for travelers.
The projects were implemented with the support of the European Union as part of the “Roads of Solidarity” initiative, which aims to develop transport routes between Ukraine and EU countries and strengthen the region’s logistical resilience. Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, announced this on Telegram.
The “Palanka–Mayaki–Udobne” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border has temporarily suspended processing of citizens and vehicles due to a technical glitch in the border service’s information systems.
