Ukraine has repatriated four sailors from a vessel detained by Iran
Four Ukrainian sailors who were aboard the container ship Epaminondas, which was detained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz, have returned home and are safe.
This was announced by Georgiy Tykhyi, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to him, after the vessel was detained in April, Ukrainian diplomats identified the sailors and maintained constant contact with their families, the shipowner, and all parties involved to secure their release.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that thanks to the sustained efforts of the Ukrainian side, all four citizens have left Iranian territory and have already been reunited with their families. Their health is reported to be satisfactory.
