Ukraine Proposes Renaming Part of Donbas 'Donniland' in Honor of Trump — NYT

During their discussions with the United States, Ukrainian negotiators put forward unconventional ideas regarding the future of certain territories in the Donbas.

This was reported by The New York Times.

Specifically, they discussed a proposal to symbolically rename part of Donbas in honor of Donald Trump—the so-called “Donniland”—to attract greater attention from the U.S. and strengthen its involvement in countering Russia’s demands.

Among the related ideas were the creation of symbols for this territory, including a flag in green and gold, as well as an anthem generated using ChatGPT.

Additionally, the option of granting this territory special status—with elements of a semi-autonomous mini-state and an offshore economy—was discussed.

The article notes that such initiatives have no official status and remain at the level of informal discussions.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Reuters in an interview about the actual losses the Russian army is incurring. According to him, the Kremlin is ready to sacrifice the lives of hundreds of thousands of its own citizens to seize territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which indicates the enemy’s enormous, colossal losses.

Russia is selecting new targets for attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure, — Zelenskyy.
