The largest air attack of the entire war: 41 missiles and 652 enemy drones were shot down
On the night of May 14, 2026, Russian occupation forces carried out a large-scale combined attack on Ukrainian territory, focusing their main assault on the capital.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Air defense forces managed to neutralize 693 aerial targets, including 41 missiles and 652 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.
The enemy launched the attack immediately after a daytime wave of drones, using air- and ground-launched missiles alongside strike UAVs.
In total, the Air Force’s electronic warfare units detected 731 air attack assets, indicating an extremely high intensity of combat operations.
The enemy used a wide range of weapons: from “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles and “Iskander-M” ballistic missiles to X-101 cruise missiles.
This approach was intended to overwhelm the Ukrainian air defense system by simultaneously approaching targets from different directions and at different altitudes.
Attack drones of the “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” and “Italmas” types, as well as decoy drones, were launched from eight different locations, including Bryansk, Kursk, and the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
In addition to standard aircraft, the use of “Banderole” loitering munitions and special “Parodia” drones was recorded.
The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the air defense forces, 29 Kh-101 cruise missiles and 12 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles were destroyed.
Despite the high effectiveness of the air defense, 15 missiles and 23 attack UAVs were recorded as having struck 24 different locations.
Additionally, debris from downed air attack vehicles was documented at 18 locations, creating additional challenges for emergency services.
