Ukraine and Italy are preparing a drone agreement

Ukraine is counting on the swift signing of the Drone Deal agreement with Italy, which is intended to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of drones. Kyiv also emphasizes the importance of Italian support in the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and cultural sites. All of this, according to representatives of the Office of the President, is part of a broader strategic partnership.

Ukraine hopes to finalize the Drone Deal agreement with Italy as soon as possible, as it could become one of the key steps in the development of defense cooperation between Kyiv and Rome, since this is not merely about technical agreements but about expanding the partnership in the field of modern technologies, particularly unmanned systems.

This was stated by First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhiy Kyslytsya during a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of the Italian Republic, emphasizing that Ukraine is counting on “the swiftest possible conclusion of the Drone Deal,” as this document could represent a significant step forward in bilateral cooperation.

Kyslytsia also emphasized that Italy’s support for the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities, particularly Odesa and other cultural sites, is not merely a political gesture but a manifestation of the values that unite both countries at this difficult historical moment. “Italy’s patronage of the reconstruction of Odesa and other cultural sites in Ukraine is not just politics, but values in action,” he noted.

According to the representative of the Office of the President, Italy fully understands the cost of reconstruction following destruction and has its own historical experience in the revival of cities and infrastructure, making it an important partner for Ukraine in the reconstruction process.

Kyslytsia separately thanked Italy and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni personally for their consistent support of Ukraine, emphasizing that the current level of cooperation between the countries is becoming increasingly systematic and covers both defense and humanitarian areas.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia may launch a new massive strike as early as tonight. He urged citizens not to ignore air raid sirens and to take shelter in a timely manner.
