Ukraine Will Receive New Air Defense Systems from Germany in September — Zelenskyy
Ukraine is expecting new air defense packages from Germany as early as this month. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this announcement following a conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
In particular, the two leaders discussed Russia’s attack on the Leipzig airfield. Zelenskyy called it yet another instance of Russian escalation and emphasized that Germany had responded to the incident.
Separately, the president announced that the text of the Drone Deal had been finalized. According to him, the agreement is intended to strengthen the defense capabilities of both Ukraine and Germany. Zelenskyy and Merz also agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting to discuss the document.
The head of state thanked the chancellor for her support of Ukraine and confirmed that new air defense systems from Germany will arrive as early as September.

As a reminder, Ukraine and Germany will expand their joint weapons production.
At present, other countries have not made any specific commitments regarding the transfer of additional air defense systems or missiles to Ukraine. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepful following a trip to Kharkiv. According to him, requests from partners are at least not being rejected, but there are no specific agreements yet.
