Ukraine strikes Russian military assets, hits S-400 system and oil infrastructure
Ukraine’s Defense Forces have carried out a series of precise strikes on critical Russian military and industrial assets, targeting an advanced S-400 air defense system, a major metallurgical plant, and a military train, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but photo and video evidence released by the military suggests the operations were effective.
In the area of Hvardiiske in Russian-occupied Crimea, Ukrainian forces confirmed a strike on a launcher belonging to the S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile system — one of Russia’s most advanced air defense platforms.
In the occupied Luhansk region, the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant — reportedly used to produce large-caliber ammunition — was hit, triggering a large fire at the facility.
A day earlier, near the settlement of Novosvitlivka, Ukrainian drones and artillery struck a Russian military train. Additional strikes targeted command posts and troop concentrations: in Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region, a drone command center was hit, while in Russia’s Belgorod region, a concentration of troops came under attack.
Further strikes were reported in Berezove (Dnipropetrovsk region), Basivka (Sumy region), and again in Huliaipole. Ukrainian officials said enemy losses and the full extent of the damage are still being clarified, but available evidence points to high precision and operational effectiveness.

“The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to systematically degrade the enemy’s combat capabilities and destroy its military infrastructure,” the General Staff said in a statement.
In addition to battlefield targets, Ukrainian drones carried out significant strikes on oil refineries and port infrastructure in Russia’s Leningrad region, limiting the country’s oil export capacity. According to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, attacks on key parts of these facilities have also disrupted fuel supplies for Russian forces.
Separately, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a meeting focused on countering enemy drones.
Ukraine is also considering exchanging interceptor drones for air defense missiles from Middle Eastern countries, while continuing to develop all-weather interceptor drones equipped with artificial intelligence.
