The EU has expanded the mandate of its mission in Ukraine to support veterans
The foreign ministers of the European Union have decided to strengthen the mandate of the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM).
This was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas following a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
According to her, the updated mandate will allow the mission to more actively counter hybrid threats and to support the reintegration of Ukrainian veterans.
The EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine was established in July 2014. It provides advisory support to Ukrainian authorities in the areas of security, police work, the judicial system, the prosecutor’s office, the fight against corruption, and the protection of human rights.
