Ukraine has been hit by a massive wave of bomb threats: what we know

The National Police of Ukraine has recorded a large-scale wave of anonymous bomb threat reports targeting government buildings, educational institutions, banks, and businesses, which began at 11:00 a.m. on March 30, 2026.

This was reported by the National Police.

As of 2:50 p.m., law enforcement had received 1,216 such reports sent to the email addresses of organizations across the country. Bomb disposal experts, K-9 units, and investigative teams were immediately dispatched to the scenes to conduct inspections in accordance with security protocols.

After reviewing 20% of the received reports, no instances of bomb threats were confirmed. The National Police suspect that the mass email campaign is yet another enemy information and psychological operation (IPO) aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country and causing panic. Law enforcement agencies are taking steps to identify those involved in spreading false information and remind the public of the criminal liability for such actions. Citizens are urged to remain calm and trust only official sources.

In September 2025, the Kyiv police received a series of reports about possible bomb threats at several buildings, including educational institutions, shopping centers, and administrative buildings.

On October 14, the police received over 2,000 calls regarding suspected bomb threats. Most of the reports came from IP addresses registered in Russia.
