The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has released a preliminary weather forecast for April
The second month of spring in Ukraine will be marked by mild temperatures and precipitation levels within the climatic norm.
According to forecasters, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 8–11 degrees Celsius, while in the mountainous regions of the Carpathians, temperatures will remain between 5 and 7 degrees above zero. Experts note that this period is characterized by a rapid rise in temperatures, though thunderstorms are possible throughout the country.
Monthly precipitation in April is forecast to be 30–50 mm, while in the Carpathians this figure will be 60–90 mm, which corresponds to 80–120% of the norm. Historical data indicate a significant temperature range for this month: absolute highs reached 33.3 degrees Celsius, while lows in some northern and eastern regions dropped to -22.2 degrees Celsius. Despite the stable forecast for 2026, meteorologists advise taking into account the variability of spring weather due to the influence of active atmospheric fronts.
Warm and sunny weather will continue to delight Ukrainians for a few more days, but by the end of March and beginning of April, weather conditions will deteriorate significantly.
