Ukrposhta has changed its logistics operations following the attack on the Kharkiv hub
Ukrposhta JSC has temporarily reorganized its mail processing and delivery routes following the Russian strike on the logistics hub in Kharkiv. The company has switched to a backup operating plan to maintain the continuity of postal services throughout the country. Ukrposhta also announced that it is preparing a compensation mechanism for customers whose shipments may have been affected by the attack.
“Fortunately, our team was not harmed. We will do everything possible to ensure that customers do not feel the effects of this attack. Immediately after the strike, we reorganized our logistics routes, and all shipments that were not damaged are continuing on to their recipients. We have also already begun preparing compensation for customers whose shipments were affected by the attack,” Ukrposhta stated.
Reserve capacity in another city has been mobilized to process shipments from the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. Some of the long-haul trucks headed for Kharkiv were rerouted to other sorting facilities as early as 3:00 a.m., where a separate sorting procedure will be implemented for these routes.
Two daily trips have already been organized for Kharkiv. The first trip has already departed, and the second is preparing for departure to ensure the fastest possible delivery of undamaged shipments to customers by this evening.
In addition, Ukrposhta is compiling lists for compensation.
"Customers will begin receiving notifications with further instructions on Wednesday after the reconciliation is completed and the final lists are compiled," the company noted.
Ukrposhta also reported that some of the sorting equipment was damaged as a result of the attack, but an accurate assessment will be made after a detailed investigation and the restoration of power supply. The final amount of damages will also be determined after the relevant commissions complete their work and the damaged equipment is assessed.
"To prevent disruptions in operations, the company will urgently transfer resources from other regions, utilize backup equipment, and purchase additional equipment to ensure continuous operations," the company added.
This was reported by the Ukrposhta press service.
Ukrposhta disclosed the salaries of Supervisory Board members following a complaint by journalists to the ombudsman.
Ukrposhta received 100% military infrastructure status.
As a reminder, the Rada has allowed the exemption of men who are wanted by the police and do not have a military ID.
