In the Khmelnytskyi region, more than 54,000 men are wanted by the police
In the Khmelnytskyi region, 54,516 men of draft age who are subject to mobilization are wanted. The police released this information, noting that law enforcement officers are working around the clock to locate individuals listed in the relevant wanted persons database.
He reported that the police, both in collaboration with and independently of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC), are operating in outreach teams. The search for individuals evading mobilization is conducted around the clock.
“There is a certain number of people that the country, the Territorial Mobilization Center, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine must mobilize every month. We are fulfilling all our duties as required by Ukrainian law. Every day, we search for people and bring them in,” the police officer noted.
In total, since the start of the war, police units in Khmelnytskyi Oblast have received requests from the Territorial Mobilization Center and the Special Police to search for 167,690 individuals who were evading mobilization. Of these, 23,516 have already been located and removed from the registry, including 4,813 individuals located in 2026.
“This is hard work. There is often resistance to the lawful actions of police officers. If police officers and TCC staff act in accordance with the law, do not exceed their official authority, and are subjected to illegal actions—including physical violence—then this constitutes a violation of the law,” explained Ivan Ishchenko.
At the same time, the regional police chief emphasized that police officers and staff of the Territorial Recruitment Centers and Specialized Units must act within the law, not exceed their authority, and always be polite, calm, and unemotional when communicating with citizens.
At the same time, Ishchenko added, citizens themselves (men of draft age) must realize that defending the Motherland is a requirement of the Constitution.
“And this is not a matter of a police officer’s personal preference, but a duty to carry out this line of work. There must be mutual respect,” Ishchenko added.
This was stated by Ivan Ishchenko, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police, in an interview with “Glavkom.”
