Ukrzaliznytsia has warned of train delays due to shelling

Due to damage to the railway infrastructure and forced stops to evacuate passengers, a number of trains are experiencing delays in Ukraine. Ukrzaliznytsia notes that some long-distance trains continue to run between cities, but the schedules of certain trains have been significantly altered.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the following trains currently have the longest delays:

  • No. 53/54 Odesa – Dnipro – delay of over 3 hours 50 minutes;
  • No. 39/40 Zaporizhzhia – Solotvyno – over 3 hours 40 minutes;
  • No. 75/76 Kryvyi Rih – Kyiv – over 3 hours 30 minutes;
  • No. 21/22 Kharkiv – Lviv – over 3 hours 30 minutes;
  • No. 65/66 Kyiv – Sumy – over 3 hours 30 minutes;
  • No. 45/46 Kharkiv – Uzhhorod – over 3 hours 30 minutes;
  • No. 21/22 Lviv – Kharkiv – over 3 hours 15 minutes;
  • No. 7/8 Odesa – Kharkiv – approximately 3 hours.

The company explained that the delays were caused by infrastructure damage, as well as the need for additional stops to evacuate passengers.

Despite this, long-distance train service has not been suspended. Rail service between regions, particularly to Dnipro, continues to operate.

Ukrzaliznytsia recommends that passengers monitor information about their trip, as delay times may change.

Up-to-date information on train schedules can be checked on the carrier’s official websites, and passengers should also pay attention to announcements at train stations and on trains.

The company added that to minimize delays, they are using auxiliary locomotives and quickly adjusting routes to get passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible.

As a reminder, Russia attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire.

Prior to that, Russian KABs struck the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in injuries.

Five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.
