Mykolaiv and the Berlin administrative district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg have officially signed a partnership agreement and become sister cities.
The agreement was signed on June 13 in Berlin. Mykolaiv Deputy Mayor Serhiy Korenev attended the ceremony.
Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych noted that cooperation between the two sides began back in May 2025 following the signing of a memorandum of partnership.
Since then, the communities have already implemented a number of joint projects. In particular, athletes from Mykolaiv’s Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 5 represented the city in Berlin, and students from the local university presented the film “Mykolaiv: Yesterday and Today” at the REC Berlin Fest.
The parties are also collaborating in the areas of municipal governance, the economy, and water infrastructure development.
The city council noted that the new agreement opens up additional opportunities for international partnership and the city’s European integration.
