30 Ukrainian Leopard 1 tanks are being upgraded with the new C3105 turret
Ukraine will receive a new batch of 30 modern C3105 combat modules from the Belgian defense company John Cockerill for installation on Leopard 1 tanks.
The relevant contract has already been signed with an anonymous customer following successful combat testing of this equipment by the Ukrainian military.
The schedule for the production and delivery of military aid is designed for the long term due to the technological complexity of the projects.
The first 5 units of the upgraded combat modules will arrive in Ukraine in June 2027. Delivery of the remaining 25 planned systems will take place in phases through the end of 2027.

Experts suggest that the Belgian government has taken on the financing of this contract to support its own defense-industrial complex.
The main technical advantage of integrating the C3105 turret onto the Leopard 1 chassis is the unique ability to conduct effective fire from covered positions.
