The government has launched new contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine
A two-year pilot project has been launched in Ukraine to introduce new military contracts with clearly defined terms of service and additional financial incentives. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published the relevant resolution No. 768 dated June 12, which allows citizens to enter into basic, combat, or infantry-assault contracts starting June 15, 2026.
The main feature of the new model is guaranteed discharge from service upon expiration of the contract and the provision of a long-term deferment from further mobilization.
The new contracts are offered for terms ranging from 6 to 24 months, depending on the category of conscripts and the specifics of the positions. For active-duty service members in combat positions, the contract term is 10 months; for reservists, it is 14 months; and for reservists who already have combat experience, the term starts at 6 months. For all other categories of positions, a fixed term of 24 months is provided. Upon completion of service, every soldier is guaranteed a basic deferment from mobilization for at least 6 months. This deferment increases in proportion to the time spent on the front lines: for every 30 days of participation in combat operations, one to three months of deferment are added, and additional months are credited for total length of service during martial law.
Along with the terms of service, the government has significantly revised the pay system and introduced new types of allowances for defenders:
For each day of conducting assault operations deep within their own troops’ defensive lines, 20,000 hryvnias are paid, and 40,000 hryvnias for operations deep within the enemy’s defensive lines.
The basic combat allowance for performing tasks on the front line of defense or during an offensive is up to 100,000 hryvnias, and 170,000 hryvnias for those stationed directly at a platoon strongpoint.
For soldiers at company strongpoints, a payment of 70,000 hryvnias is provided, and at command posts—50,000 hryvnias.
Separately, a reward of 15,000 hryvnias has been established for the elimination of enemy personnel, and 100,000 hryvnias for the capture of a Russian servicemember.
The changes also affect rear units: all service members who do not receive other allowances but directly support the operations of military units are guaranteed to receive at least 30,000 hryvnias per month. In addition, instructors in military units will receive an additional monthly allowance ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 hryvnias. To provide detailed explanations regarding the new conditions, the Ministry of Defense has launched a dedicated hotline at the short number 1519.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
A digital mechanism for the return of military personnel after unauthorized absence from their units has been launched in Ukraine via the “Army+” app, which allows them to complete the procedure without unnecessary bureaucracy and immediately select a new unit. The Ministry of Defense says the system is intended to expedite the return of motivated soldiers to the most effective units of the Defense Forces.
Zelenskyy announced an increase in payments to military personnel: infantrymen will receive 300,000 UAH.
