Ukrzaliznytsia has changed train schedules following Russia's overnight attack on the Kyiv region
Following a massive nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region, a number of commuter trains to and from Kyiv are running with delays, on altered routes, or have been temporarily canceled.
Ukrzaliznytsia urges passengers to closely monitor updates on train service.
According to the carrier, delays of one to 2.5 hours are possible for the following trains:
- No. 6903 Nizhyn – Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi – up to 2 hours;
- No. 893 Konotop – Kyiv – up to 2 hours;
- No. 6911 Nizhyn – Kyiv-Passenger – up to 1.5 hours;
- No. 6902 Kyiv-Volynskyi – Nizhyn – up to 2.5 hours;
- No. 6906 Kyiv – Nizhyn – up to 1 hour.
In addition, some commuter trains on the Nizhyn–Kyiv route are temporarily running via Brovary Station, and certain trips have been temporarily removed from the schedule.
Temporary restrictions have also been introduced on the Korosten route.
Specifically, train No. 6610 Korosten–Borshchahivka will not run today, and train No. 6604 Teteriv–Sviatoshyn departed 1 hour and 7 minutes late.
Ukrzaliznytsia asks passengers to pay attention to announcements at train stations and to be understanding of these temporary changes to the train schedule.
On the night of August 5, Russian troops launched a massive combined strike on the Kyiv region. Damage was reported in the Brovary, Bucha, and Fastiv districts, where warehouses and industrial facilities were damaged.
According to the State Emergency Service, 14 people were killed and another 22 were injured.
Additionally, bodies were found on a railway platform near the attacked logistics centers in the Brovary district. Due to the shelling, train service and operations at some stations were temporarily suspended, and passengers and employees were evacuated.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times, using drones, artillery, and guided aerial bombs. The shelling damaged civilian infrastructure, but there were no casualties.
As a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026, 14 people were killed, and another 27 civilians were wounded. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
Over the past 24 hours, on August 4, Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 1,052 times, striking 50 settlements in the region. Two people were injured as a result of shelling in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.
On the night of August 5, Russian troops struck a critical infrastructure facility in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv Oblast. As a result of the attack, approximately 13,300 customers were left without electricity.
