The government has allocated 6.6 billion hryvnia to raise salaries for educators and social workers

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 6.6 billion hryvnia among all 24 regions of Ukraine to ensure the payment of increased salaries to education and social services workers.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the amount of funding for each region was determined individually—depending on the need for additional funds and the financial capacity of local budgets.

The lower a region’s own revenue base, the greater the share of the costs for salary increases that the state covers.

For regions and communities where hostilities are ongoing or there is a threat of their resumption, the state budget will cover up to 80% of the necessary expenses. For other, financially weaker regions, the level of support will range from 50% to 80%.

Heads of general secondary education institutions must update teacher data in the “Automated Information Complex for Educational Management” (AIKOM) so that deferrals from military conscription are automatically extended.

Starting September 1, teachers in Ukraine are guaranteed a 20% pay raise.
