The government has allocated more than ₴10 billion for armaments and the development of Ukraine's defense industry

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 10.8 billion hryvnias from a special fund of the state budget for the procurement and production of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, 9 billion hryvnias will go toward the procurement of new weapons, as well as the repair and modernization of military equipment.

The government will allocate nearly 2 billion hryvnias more to the development of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex, specifically for scaling up production and the rapid implementation of new technologies already in use on the battlefield.

Svyrydenko clarified that the funds were raised through personal income tax, licensing fees from the gambling industry, and lottery revenues.

“The government is allocating an additional 10.8 billion hryvnias for the procurement and production of weapons. The funds were accumulated in a special state budget fund and directed toward defense needs,” the head of government noted.

She also emphasized that the Ukrainian military and weapons manufacturers are currently undergoing a technological revolution recognized by both Ukraine’s allies and its adversaries.

“The government is doing everything possible to support these changes and help rapidly scale up new technologies,” Svyrydenko added.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with international partners, is stepping up efforts to accelerate the production and supply of modern weapons for combat aviation

Earlier, Zelenskyy proposed a drone deal to all partners, which the U.S. rejected.
