Severe weather has left communities in 11 regions of Ukraine without power

On May 28, severe weather caused power outages in a number of communities across 11 regions in Ukraine. Repair crews are already working to restore power. The outages were caused by strong winds, rain, and damage to power lines. Utility companies promise to restore power once the repairs are complete.

This was reported with reference to the Ministry of Energy.

“Due to bad weather, more than 350 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions remain without power. Repair crews are working on restoration,” the statement reads.

At the same time, as the ministry emphasizes, no power outages are expected today. “Please check the official resources of your distribution system operators for any changes regarding power supply,” the Ministry of Energy emphasizes.

“Active electricity consumption today should be shifted to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In the evening hours, we ask consumers, if possible, to use electricity sparingly—from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This helps reduce the load on the system,” the statement adds.

As a reminder, severe weather has left thousands of people without power in the Kyiv region.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, severe weather has persisted for the third consecutive day—the region has been hit by heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls.

Severe weatherhas hit Ukraine: storms, hail, and downpours have knocked down trees in several regions.
