In Izmail, a Russian agent was planning to blow up vehicles belonging to the Defense Forces
The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 27-year-old Russian agent in Izmail, Odesa Oblast, who, according to the investigation, was planning a series of terrorist attacks near the administrative buildings of defense agencies.
According to the case file, the woman, a resident of Zhytomyr Oblast, came to the attention of Russian intelligence agencies through Telegram channels dedicated to job searches.
After being recruited, she traveled to Izmail, rented an apartment, and received instructions from her handlers to carry out sabotage operations.
According to the investigation, the agent manufactured three homemade explosive devices, which she planned to use to blow up Defense Forces vehicles.

At the same time, the woman gathered intelligence near defense facilities in Izmail and took photos and videos of military personnel’s vehicles. According to the SBU, the Russian intelligence services could have used the collected materials to plan terrorist attacks and information operations.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect as she was preparing an explosive device concealed in a bag and awaiting further instructions from her Russian handler.

During a search, authorities seized her cell phones, two ready-to-use explosive devices, and components for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, the woman was notified of charges under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—preparation to commit a terrorist act.
The suspect is currently being held in custody without the right to bail. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the SBU.
