In Odessa, a retiree shot and killed a soldier

In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of murdering a serviceman. The incident occurred on September 30 right on a city roadway.

According to the investigation, on the morning of September 30 on Lyustdorfskaya Road, patrol officers discovered the body of a 50-year-old man with gunshot wounds next to a Chevrolet.

Law enforcement officers conducted an investigation, identified the suspect, and detained him.

The detainee turned out to be a man of retirement age. The murder weapon, spent shell casings, and other physical evidence were seized at the scene and sent for forensic analysis.

 

 

 

 

Under the procedural supervision of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, police investigators notified the suspect of charges under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — Article 115: intentional homicide; Article 263: illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances.

The issue of imposing a preventive measure on the suspect is currently being decided.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are examining several possible scenarios and motives for the crime. The suspect faces a lengthy prison sentence for the crime.
