TikToker sentenced to 5 years in prison for posting Ukrainian army positions

A 37-year-old man from Odesa has been sentenced to five years in prison for posting a TikTok video showing Ukrainian military positions during a Russian missile and drone attack in November 2023.

Prosecutors proved that the man deliberately recorded combat scenes on his phone and shared them publicly, allowing the identification of Ukrainian troop locations, which posed a threat to national security.

During a search of his home, law enforcement officers also found illegally stored ammunition. Authorities stressed that sharing sensitive military data online during wartime constitutes a serious violation that can endanger soldiers and civilians alike.
