The body of a city council member was found in a car in Odessa
On the morning of April 20, a body was found inside a car on a street in the Primorsky district of Odesa. According to local Telegram channels, the deceased may be Odesa City Council member Oleksandr Ivanitsky.
This was reported by “Suspilne.”
According to sources on Telegram channels, the 51-year-old council member from the “Trust the Deeds” party, who was part of former Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov’s inner circle, was found shot dead in his own car on Krystalny Lane.

According to the preliminary version of law enforcement, it appears to be a suicide. The circumstances of the death are being determined. An investigative team is already working at the scene.
At City Hall, Ivanitsky headed the standing committee on housing and utilities. He has served as a deputy for the past three terms.
It is worth noting that the scandal-ridden former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Dmytro Verbytskyi, is attempting to build his political career in Odesa. According to UA.NEWS, the former official may have joined the Odesa branch of the party, likely with the aim of obtaining political immunity.
This is happening against the backdrop of pending criminal proceedings and conclusions by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) regarding the former official’s unexplained assets totaling 29 million hryvnias.
The agency’s editorial staff sent a request to Oleg Radkovsky, head of the Odessa regional party organization of the “Batkivshchyna” Alliance, asking him to clarify Verbytsky’s status within the party to the public. In particular, journalists are interested in whether the candidate underwent a review for compliance with the party’s ethical standards, given the revealed facts of illicit enrichment and his ties to Odesa business.
