A Russian agent who was planning a terrorist attack on an energy facility was exposed in Odessa
The Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian citizen in Odesa who attempted to blow up a truck carrying high-value equipment for a heating facility.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
According to the investigation, the woman planted a homemade explosive device under a truck transporting equipment to the energy facility and planned to remotely activate it by calling the primary and backup mobile phones.
The SBU acted preemptively, deactivated the bomb in time, and detained the suspect.
As the investigation established, the detainee is a resident of Chernivtsi who was recruited by Russian special services via Telegram. Following the enemy’s instructions, she traveled to Odesa, rented an apartment, manufactured the explosives, and hid them in a metal drum.
During searches, components for making explosives and other evidence of collaboration with Russia were seized from her.
Investigators informed the agent that she is suspected of an attempted terrorist attack. The suspect is being held in custody without the right to bail. She faces up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented a series of terrorist attacks in Khmelnytskyi. An FSB agent who was planning to blow up Defense Forces vehicles was detained in the regional center.
Earlier, the Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented a large-scale explosion in the center of Dnipro by apprehending a Russian intelligence operative “red-handed.”
As a reminder, a man was detained in Kyiv for promising to “take care of” someone to help them evade mobilization.
Also, a Russian agent who was plotting the assassination of General Biletsky was detained within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
