A driver who opened fire on police during an arrest was killed in Odessa
In Odesa, a man who fired an assault rifle at police officers was killed during his arrest. He refused to cooperate with law enforcement and opened fire on members of the KORD special forces unit.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
According to law enforcement officials, a special police operation was launched in the region to apprehend the suspect. Within a few hours, his location was identified—the man was hiding in an unfinished building.
During negotiations, while on the third floor, he began shooting at the police. In response, KORD officers returned fire.
“The use of force against the shooter was necessary to stop the threat to the lives of law enforcement officers,” the police stated.
As a result of the special operation, the suspect was killed. An investigative team is working at the scene, and the State Bureau of Investigations and the prosecutor’s office have been notified of the incident.


It is known that the 45-year-old Odessa resident was wanted for violating military registration rules. During a document check, he opened fire on police officers and fled in a car, after which he hid in an unfinished building.
